El Caballo, owned jointly between RSA members Owners For Owners and Grange Park Racing has been nominated by the ROA for their Horseracing Awards as Outstanding All-Weather Horse.
It was a wonderful achievement by Karl Burke and his team to win six races on the bounce with him, including four back-to-back all-weather races between December 2021 and April 2022, culminating in the All-Weather Championship at Newcastle.
He then went on to win the Group 2 Sandy Lane at Haydock Park, giving his talented rider Clifford Lee his first Group win. Bought by John Weymes as a foal, he has done nothing but improve since, and he will be back in training in 2023 with an early target, hopefully, the Group 2 Sprint at York’s Dante meeting.
