Racehorse Syndicates Association (RSA) announce 2023 racecourse award for excellence in syndicate owner race day experience

Members of the Racehorse Syndicates Association (RSA) have voted to award seven courses with an award for excellence when dealing with syndicates and racing clubs. RSA members, who represent around 10,000 syndicate owners, were invited to provide feedback on their racecourse ownership experience. This feedback provided the basis for the Awards.

Seven racecourses have won the RSA Award for recognition of providing an outstanding ownership experience for shared-ownership groups.

They are:

  • Southwell
  • Fontwell Park
  • Catterick Bridge
  • Beverley
  • Lingfield Park
  • Warwick
  • Ascot

The following were also awarded “Outstanding Owners Liaison Team”

  • Kempton Park
  • Aintree
  • Sandown Park
  • Epsom
  • Newmarket
RSA Chairman Dan Abraham commented

“Congratulations to all the racecourses that have been recognised by RSA Members over the past 12 months. Interestingly many racecourses have introduced considerable changes to the syndicate experience in recent months, notably ARC’s roll out of Syndicate Lounges at all courses and the more flexible approach taken by many Jockey Club courses. Some of these changes won’t yet be recognised by the Awards which cover the last 12 months, but it will be very interesting to see how these changes impact on the shared ownership experience going forwards”.

For many RSA Members flexibility was the key to their voting, in particular to paddock access. “RSA Members appreciate that some racecourses don’t have the facilities to cater for large number of owners, but our Members have recognised a variety of courses all of which offer an approach which ensures that all owners receive the best possible experience on raceday”.

Ally Watson – Owners & Trainers Liaison Manager for Warwick Racecourse (pictured, with award) said:.

“Warwick Racecourse are delighted to receive the RSA Racecourse Award in recognition of our efforts to ensure all owners, including syndicates and clubs, have an outstanding experience whenever they have a runner with us. Owners are vital for the future of the sport and it is paramount in our objectives to ensure they are appropriately looked after and rewarded for their support.”
